Sunday School on Steroids – Carol L. Patterson

In the midst of an all-out assault on Black lives, including voting rights and our contributions to this country, First Baptist Church of Lincoln Gardens in Somerset, New Jersey pivoted from traditional in-person Sunday School to an innovative hybrid Freedom School for the whole family on Saturday. The exponential increase in enrollment and attendance combined with an unprecedented excitement about the culturally relevant, Bible-based curriculum that we developed in-house is showing us that this approach can deliver sustainable spiritual and numerical growth.
